  1. Loved the one of the female wood duck whispering sweet nothings into the male’s ear. Lots of memories of Oly-town after living there seven years. Great opportunities to nature watch.

  2. It’s fun how you caught several pairs, or at least males and females. It’s getting to be that season when they start paying more attention to each other. I think the area around the capitol in Olympia is so pretty.

    • Agreed! Last year the wood ducks were just staring to nest and I haven’t ever seen pairs of horned grebes here in the area. Geez, I sure love spring!

  3. Very stunning, interesting images,Bon, some of which beg for captions! Maybe ‘wordless’ but they certainly tell a story!

    • They tell the story of a Bonnie Day for sure. Lots of wandering, chasing birds, dodging raindrops … thanks for the kind words. I do so love my days with a camera*

  4. Glorious duck love. I was stopped by the capitol a week ago and was surprised to find the cherry trees still tight in the bud. Looks like they aren’t much farther along. So freaking cold!

    • Got a good walk at Capitol Lake … and lots of birds. Nothing at all at Mima Mounds. (Unless you like gunshots.) Nice day for me.

You know I'd love to hear from you !
