Crater Lake and Beyond

I’ll have a nice blog post later about this great birding trip, but here are a couple from today I couldn’t resist.

Be safe Oregon and California friends. Tonight we are under Level 2 evacuation alert here near Klamath Falls. I can’t imagine living under the threat of fire all summer long. We are safe and sound but others are in the path. May they all escape harm and recover quickly.

  1. Stunning captures, Bon! And you know I love those filters you employ for dramatic effect. But the best news is that you are having fun and shoving aside expectations. High adventure, maximum fun! And a ton of interesting flora and avifauna! Bravo!

    • Thanks so much, Mare ♡
I think I added twelve birds to my “lifer” list on this trip and went back in the morning to watch sunrise at the rim of Crater Lake. I’ll do another blog post later with some morning shots. After days in the deep heat we got rain, sleet and snow up there ! Great adventure, indeed !

  2. Oh my goodness, the eaglet. Haha! It appears you made more of your visit to Crater Lake than I did. I did like the side trip to the Pinnacles.

    • No hiking for me this trip but I scouted it out for “someday”. This is actually a mama osprey. She has two babies in that nest and she was stressed out so I left. I moved way back down the road and used the zoom to get some great head shots.

You know I'd love to hear from you !
